Ken Speegle
REALTOR® Broker
Ken Speegle grew up in Alabama, but always had a fascination with Alaska. Ken joined the Army right out of high school and had always listed Alaska on his preference of duty assignments. He finally got the opportunity late in his career, being stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska, in 2005. Upon arriving in Alaska, Ken fell in love with the Eagle River, Alaska community and its small-town feel and has been there ever since. Knowing that Alaska was a great place to live and raise a family, he retired from the Army in 2010 and began his career in real estate.
Real estate was a perfect fit for Ken. Having been the consumer in several real estate transactions during his travels throughout the Army, he was fortunate to have agents that went above and beyond, setting a great example for his own business. He approaches every client and their transaction with the heart of a teacher. Education is important to him, just as training was in the Army. He has earned the GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designation, CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), which only 3% of realtors nationwide obtain this accomplishment. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwest State University of Louisiana and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from TUI University with a concentration in Negotiation and Conflict Management, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Ken is very knowledgeable of real estate sales in residential, multi-family properties, and vacant land in Eagle River, Alaska, Anchorage, Alaska, Palmer, Alaska, Wasilla, Alaska, and Girdwood, Alaska. So, if you're military being assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER) or a job transfer looking for a home, he is ready to assist. For those having to depart our area, Ken is a listing specialist and has the necessary knowledge and tools to achieve your goals to sell your properties. Personally owning recreational property in Glennallen, Alaska, he is very knowledgeable in Alaskan recreation-style properties in the Cooper River Basin, Kenai Peninsula, and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and ready to assist in those areas as well.
When not working or enjoying the great outdoors, Ken knows the importance of giving back to the community. He spends countless hours volunteering at the local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), where he has held almost every elected or appointed position in that organization. He also volunteers with the local Elks Lodge, American Legion, Chugiak Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, and Anchorage Board of Realtors. One of the many things that makes Alaska a great place is the strong communities. If you think Alaska is for you, don’t hesitate to connect with Ken for all your real estate needs.
